Tea Caddy Spoon Brass George V And Mary Jubilee Mint
This is a mint condition souvenir tea caddy spoon or tea scoop made to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary of England in 1935. The tea caddy spoon is made of brass, measures 3.75 inches long with a bowl that is 2 inches in diameter. The 3 dimensional figural finial with the king's bust is outstandingly done. There is also the words H M The King 1910-1935. The The souvenir royal commemorative tea caddy spoon is in excellent condition. Tea caddy spoons were devised in the 17th century to be locked in tea caddies with the precious tea that was so expensive at the time. Souvenir tea caddy spoons have remained a popular collectible since victorian times and royal commemoratives are very difficult to find.
