| This is a Wedgwood, England antique victorian jasper or jasperware biscuit jar, biscuit barrel, cracker jar or cookie jar with silver plated fittings was made in 1872. The biscuit barrel is of dark blue jasperware dip with the classical design Woman And Children on one side and Woman With Cherubs on the other with lion heads on the sides. The biscuit jar measures 5.5 inches high without handle by 5 in diameter, and the marks are an extremely faint impressed WEDGWOOD that can only be seen with a loupe and the letter A. This biscuit jar with slightly diferent fittings is on page 28 of Wedgwood Jasper Ware by Michael Herman. The cracker barrel is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. There are 2 tiny dents in the silver rim because of being hit by the finial on the handle for many years. A wonderful and decorative piece. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured signature required. | ||||||||
