King George V And Mary Silver Jubilee Tea Caddy Spoon
This is a souvenir tea caddy spoon or tea scoop made to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary of England in 1935. The tea caddy spoon is marked EPNS, measures 4 inches long and has an applied enamel finial with the king's cipher and a dedication. The oval bowl of the spoon is ribbed and is called a shell. The souvenir royal commemorative tea caddy spoon is in very good +++ condition. Tea caddy spoons were devised in the 17th century to be locked in tea caddies with the precious tea that was so expensive at the time. Souvenir tea caddy spoons have remained a popular collectible since victorian times and royal commemoratives are very difficult to find. Shipping included in the USA.
