| This is an English victorian hand faceted crystal knife rest shaped like a barbell or dumbell with faceted ball ends made in England 1890-1910. The large crystal carving knife rest measures 1.5 inches high by 5 inches long and is in very good condition with only 2 minor facet chips and general facet wear. I brought home recently from England. Knife rests were developed to keep your knife from dirtying the tablecloth at meals and is a great decorating trend today.
