| This is an exceptional souvenir bowl by the Empire china company of England made to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII of England on May 12, 1937. The coronation never happened because Edward abdicated the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. The bowl has a squared shape, measures 1.5 inches high by 3.25 in diameter and has a sepia portait of the king who was never crowned surrounded by color decorations, flags, the Tudor rose, thistles and shamrocks. The bowl is in excellent, mint condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or wear. The best condition I have had in years! A beautiful and historic piece that beside being collectible can be used as a pencil holder or vase. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured. | |||||||
