| This is a rare pair of English hallmarked sterling silver sugar, ice or dessert tongs made in 1844 by JS&S Sheffield, England. The tongs measure 6.5 inches long and have rare 3 dimensional claw foot ends with incredible detail and including a very rare inside toe or claw for gripping. The claws even have the toe pads on the inside, nails and feathers on the outside. They are really fabulous and the most detail I have had in 20 years. From my last English buying trip. Neat!
