| This is a great antique porcelain fairing or late victorian carnival prize showing a husband being punished by his wife for returning home at one o'clock in the morning. The hand painted fairing measures 3.25 inches long by 3 inches high by 2 inches wide. It has a typical victorian script title. It bears impressed marks and the written number 43 on the bottom which is normal for the older pieces from 1880-1900s and was made by Conta and Bohme of Germany and is shown in the Victorian China Fairings book by Derek Jordan with a different color pajama stripe. It is in very good ++ condition with no chips or cracks and good paint condition but does show wear. Not bad for over 100 years old! A wonderful collector's piece. These pieces are called fairings because they were usually won at traveling fairs or carnivals or bought as souvenirs in the 1800s. Shipping in the US by USOS priority insured is $9.90. | |||||||||
