Antique Pitcher Jug Brown Stoneware Dudson Sprigged
This is a wonderful antique mid victorian light brown stoneware pitcher or jug made in the 1870s by Dudson, Staffordshire England. The pitcher or jug is 8 inches high was hand thrown with a sprigged or applied white design of a grapes and grapevine and gothic borders. The pitcher or jug is unmarked but identical to those on The Potteries Dudson website and an identical jug is in the museum in Staffordshire. I bought this in Staffordshire recently. The piture is gorgeous and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear which is very unusual for the material and age. It is a wonderful piece of victorian decorative art and workmanship. Shipping in the US by USPS priority is $15.90.
