| This cute little mottoware or motto ware pedestal single egg cup, was made by Watcombe, Torquay in Devon, England 1900-1920 and features the usual cottage and the motto Speak Little Speak Well. The color is actually creamier than the photo appears. The eggcup measures 2.75 inches high and is 1.75 inches in diameter. This famous and fun pottery was manufactured in the south of England from the 1870s until the factories closed in the 1960s. It is usually of red clay decorated with bright glazes, cottages and mottos or sayings that run the gamut from proverbs and sound advice to nearly outrageous. Always fun and different and very collectible! A great piece for your breakfast egg and soldiers. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured is $8.50. | ||||||||
