This is a wonderful item of victoriana. This is an antique ivory glove stretcher dating 1880-1890s. The glove stretcher measures 8 inches long and has a scissor action pivoting on an internal bone wheel. The action has a tight return and I don't know the mechanics but it works beautifully. The glove stretcher was an essential part of every victorian woman's vanity tolls or gadgets and was used to gently stretch the fingers of the many pairs of kidskin gloves required at the time. This is a victorian hair receiver or hair receptacle made by the Queen City Silver Company of Cinncinati, Ohio USA 1890-1910 and was a part of every victorian woman's vanity set. This particular piece is of pressed glass with a damascened or niello silverplate lid. The hair receiver measures 2.5 inches high by 5 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition. This is a wonderful antique beaded purse with the engraved mark Made In France on the gold plated molded brass frame. The purse measures 8.75 inches from the top of the frame to the fringe ends and is 5.5 inches wide. This is a ribbon pocket watch fob from England that dates to 1870-1890. The gros grain ribbon measures 5.25 inches high as it is folded by 1.75 inches wide. The fob which is gold filled measures 1.75 inches high by 1 inch wide. The fob has 3 hand set mine cut foil back star set stones. This is an antique English Edwardian perfume bottle or vanity bottle with a hallmarked sterling silver screw lid that I brought home from England. The English hallmarks are for the famous London firm of Chas and Geo Asprey, the date mark for 1907 with the sterling lion rampant.
