This jug or pitcher is 5 inches high and 3 inches in diamter and was created to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary of England (the present Queen Elizabeth II's grandparents) in 1935. It is a pale yellow ceramic with a molded profile of the king. There is a silver band that shows some wear, but otherwise in very good condition--no chips, cracks or restorations. The plate measures 6.5 inches in diameter and besides the usual impressed Wedgwood marks has a dedication on the back. This is a souvenir horse brass or pub brass commemorating Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1897. This horse brass, however is definitely a 1970's copy done for Queen Elizabeth II's silver Jubilee in 1977. I brought it back from England then. It measures 3.5 inches high. Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible.
