This is a wonderful antique Regency figural knife rest that I brought back from England recently. The knife rest is silver plated metal and cleaned up very well and has all it's silver plating. The knife rest features 2 upright crested birds that look like cranes or storks or maybe even phoenixes. The knife rest measures 4.75 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, 2 high and has hand made square nots and dates to the Regency period around the Napoleonic wars. This is a fabulous vintage set of 4 silver plated EPNS spoons and matching sugar tongs made by Mapping and Webb, Sheffield and London, England 1920-1930s in the original fitted leather covered wooden box. There are only 4 coffee or demitasse spoons but room for 6 so 2 have been lost. The spoons measure 4.5 inches long and have shell shaped reeded bowls, a barley twist handle and fluted finials. This is a victorian figural napkin ring in original condition dating to 1890-1900. It is silver plated pewter and has no maker's marks. I got it in England but I believe it to be of US origin. This is a neat pincushion in the shape of a lace up oxford shoe made of silver plated cast iron in the 1950s. The pin cushion shoe measures 4.5 inches long by 1.25 inches wide by 2 inches high. It has an inset of velvet. The shoe says Made In Japan on the sole and has japanese characters on the inside of the heel. It is in very good condition with little plate loss but does have a hole in the heel where it looks to me like someone tried to hammer a nail with it! This English silverplated knife rest measures 3 inches long by 1 inch high and dates from the 1910-1930 period. The knife rest has an interesting shape that looks like jacks, a bath tap or the Cingular sign. I brought it back from England having bought it at an antiques market in Cheddar near Bath.
