This is a great vintage darning mushroom with it's original chrome sock ring we brought back from England recently. This wooden or treen oak darner measures 4.5 inches long by 2.25 inches in diameter with a turned handle with 2 incised rings and dates from the 1900-1920. It has great patina and I love the use scars on it. That's character for you. It is in very good condition with one small crack in the handle base. A great piece and very collectible. This is an antique English brass wax stamp or letter seal with a thistle finial. The was seal measures 4 inches long and was made by J W and Co, Ltd. and is marked British rather than Made In England, and dates to 1900-1920. The initial plate unscrews from the base and the piece is beautifully made and is in very good +++ condition but does show some wear on the fancy thistle leaf design on the handle from use. A beautiful item with a Scottish flavor. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
