This is a wonderful item of victoriana. This is an antique ivory glove stretcher dating 1880-1890s. The glove stretcher measures 8 inches long and has a scissor action pivoting on an internal bone wheel. The action has a tight return and I don't know the mechanics but it works beautifully. The glove stretcher was an essential part of every victorian woman's vanity tolls or gadgets and was used to gently stretch the fingers of the many pairs of kidskin gloves required at the time. This is an antique English brass wax stamp or letter seal with a thistle finial. The was seal measures 4 inches long and was made by J W and Co, Ltd. and is marked British rather than Made In England, and dates to 1900-1920. The initial plate unscrews from the base and the piece is beautifully made and is in very good +++ condition but does show some wear on the fancy thistle leaf design on the handle from use. This is an antique victorian funeral remembrance card or momento mori for Achsa McClary died May 27, 1898 aged 49 years 6 months. These cards were given out at the funeral and kept as a remembrance as well as sent to relatives and friends who couldn't attend the funeral. This is a neat set of English fireplace bellows I brought home from England recently. The fireplace accessory is 19 inches long by 7 inches wide and features a repousse or raised tavern scene in brass with a wood frame and faux leather bellows. The set was made in the 1950s and is in excellent condition. The bellows are functional and work and are very decorative hanging by the fireplace. This is a fabulous 9 inch in diameter late Victorian antique Delft blue and white plate or wall plaque made to hang on the wall and is unmarked but was brought here around 1900 from England. This is a great vintage darning mushroom with it's original chrome sock ring we brought back from England recently. This wooden or treen oak darner measures 4.5 inches long by 2.25 inches in diameter with a turned handle with 2 incised rings and dates from the 1900-1920. It has great patina and I love the use scars on it. That's character for you. It is in very good condition with one small crack in the handle base. A great piece and very collectible.
