This plate is absolutely beautiful! It is a quite large, 10.75 inches in diameter, perhaps a charger or just a cabinet plate, and bears the beehive or shield mark of Royal Vienna factory, Austria and was manufactured around 1880-1900 in what is called the Vienna period. Although the portrait is not identified I think it is a portrait of the Empress Josephine and the letter N is incorporated into the border.
