This is an antique English brass wax stamp or letter seal with a thistle finial. The was seal measures 4 inches long and was made by J W and Co, Ltd. and is marked British rather than Made In England, and dates to 1900-1920. The initial plate unscrews from the base and the piece is beautifully made and is in very good +++ condition but does show some wear on the fancy thistle leaf design on the handle from use.
