The treen potato masher or darning mushroom measures 7 inches long by 5 inches in diameter, is made of oak (I think), has a turned handle and was made around 1900 in England. The patina is fantastic and it's a great collectible piece of kitchenalia or sewing memorabilia. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured. Herbig, a listed artist, by F. Weber and Company, Philadelphia P. A. USA around 1910 which is stamped in purple on the back of the model. My grandfather was married in Pennsylvania in 1911 and then moved to California to work as a painter. This is an antique ivory glove stretcher dating 1880-1890s. The glove stretcher measures 8 inches long and has a scissor action pivoting on an internal bone wheel. The action has a tight return and I don't know the mechanics but it works beautifully. The glove stretcher was an essential part of every victorian woman's vanity tolls or gadgets and was used to gently stretch the fingers of the many pairs of kidskin gloves required at the time.
