This is an English fancy antique brass plated cast iron jewelry casket or jewelry box made in 1890-1910. The exquisitely detailed and cast jewel box with hinged lid measures 2.5 inches high by 3.5 inches long by 2.5 inches wide and has repousse cherub or angel musicians on the top, filigree worn, and very fine stamped pattern on the inside of the lid which is made in 2 layers, stands on 4 legs and has a red plush lining which I think is a replacement. This antique English nutcracker dates to the 1890s and measures 5.5 inches long. The cast iron nutcracker is a pliers type nutcracker that is convertible with 2 pierced and toothed oval areas at the top of the handles to grip the nuts. The nutcracker has tapering handles with an embossed floral pattern on the turned rings of each handle. I brought it back recently from England.
