This antique English nutcracker dates to the 1890s and measures 5.5 inches long. The cast iron nutcracker is a pliers type nutcracker that is convertible with 2 pierced and toothed oval areas at the top of the handles to grip the nuts. The nutcracker has tapering handles with an embossed floral pattern on the turned rings of each handle. I brought it back recently from England. This is a great pair of sterling silver sugar tongs with claw ends made by Wm.B.Durgin of Concord, New Hampshire USA. I believe the pattern is called Chatham. The marks or the D for Durgin, Sterling Pat'd and the tongs date 1900-1920. The box has a gothic engraved initial C, I think. The tongs measure 3.75 inches long and would add elegance to any tea table.

This is a wonderful antique knife rest I brought home from England recently. The EPNS silver plated knife rest has triangular figural ends in the form of the symbol of the Isle Of man, three booted feet with spurs and measure 2 inches high by 3.5 inches long by 2 inches wide and were made in England 1890-1910. This is an antique English Edwardian perfume bottle or vanity bottle with a hallmarked sterling silver screw lid that I brought home from England. The English hallmarks are for the famous London firm of Chas and Geo Asprey, the date mark for 1907 with the sterling lion rampant. This is a set of eight Gorham Silver Co., USA Buttercup pattern gold washed demitasse coffee spoons or small teaspoons in sterling silver. The spoons have the words sterling with lion, anchor and G and the pat'd date 1899. They have a gold washed bowl and are in excellent condition and measure 4.25 inches long. It has ends like a fancy andiron and a barley twist bar and measures 3 inches long, 1.25 inches high, 2 inches wide. The knife rest dates to 1890-1910 and is in excellent condition. Knife rests were a victorian invention to keep the table cloth clean. It is really pretty and quite collectible.

This is a pair of pre victorian English antique hallmarked sterling silver sugar tongs or sugar nips. The sugar tongs measure 6 inches long and are hallmarked for London, England in 1822 which means before Queen Victoria came to the thrown in the Regency period. The sugar tongs have the a gothic script monogram FM on the bow. The sugar tongs have spoon ends and a Georgian design. They are in excellent condition from an historic period. Beau Brummel or Jane Austen would have loved them.
