I bought it in England. It is mouth blown, a rich cranberry color and stands 8.5 inches high with a ground pontil. The glass is about 1/8 inch thick. There are caliper marks to be vaguely seen along the sides. Bulb or hyacinth vases were very popular in the mid to late victorian era because of a fad of interest in botany and growing things indoors in glass houses ...click for details

This is a very old master open salt or salt dip, dating to 1890-1910. It measures 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches by 2.75 inches high.
