This is a fabulous antique cranberry glass hyacinth or bulb vase or jar used to force bulbs to bloom indoors that was made 1880-1900. I bought it in England. It is mouth blown, a rich cranberry color and stands 8.5 inches high with a ground pontil. The glass is about 1/8 inch thick. There are caliper marks to be vaguely seen along the sides. Bulb or hyacinth vases were very popular in the mid to late victorian era because of a fad of interest in botany and growing things indoors in glass houses ...click for details

It is in very good condition but it does have a small shallow chip on a bottom corner measuring approximately .75 of an inch. You can only see it if you turn the piece over. Otherwise very good. This is the cutest set of b ...click for details

This is an absolutely beautiful antique leaded crystal large knife rest with a fluted bar. The large knife rest or carving knife rest is quite old, dating to around 1850-1870 and has faceted ball ends in a dumbell or barbell shape. This knife rest has been hand and not machine faceted. The rest measures 4.5 inches long with 1.5 in diameter faceted ball ends. It has only a few tiny facet chips and is really in very good condition for it's age. Knife rests were popularized by the vict ...click for details
