This is a wonderful antique biscuit barrel or cookie jar made of dark blue jasper dip made by Wedgwood, England 1900-1920s. The shape is #1672 and the classical design is called Sacrifice Figures in applied white jasper. The fittings are silver plate EPNS and the maker is Walker and Hall Sheffield, England. The biscuit barrel measures 5.75 inches high without handle by 5.75 in diameter and is in excellent condition. There is some minor plate wear to the lid. This is a very different Chelsea or Grandmother's Ware teacup and saucer made by an unidentified pottery in the Staffordshire region of England between 1850-1870s. The victorian pattern is called Blue Sprig or Chelsea Sprig but has been overpainted and then glazed and fired with a copper luster on the sprig decoration. Very unusual. This is a fabulous blue transfer ware ironstone 8 inch in diameter romantic Staffordshire plate with the title Landscape made by Midwinter in Staffordshire, England 1910-1920. The plate is seen on page 314 of Petra Williams' Staffordshire Cup Plates And Early Victorian China Vol I. The plates is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks with some crazing consistent with age. Fabulous and so collectible.
