This is a Royal Doulton, Lambeth England tobacco jar with original lid made by in 1901-1907 in the Silicon line of matte stoneware with applied rosettes and the pattern X-5387. The pattern was used with different color combinations from 1895-1902 but the Royal Doulton mark with the Royal added only started in 1901 after recognition from Queen Victoria. This is a wonderful Chelsea or Grandmother's Ware teacup and saucer made by an unknown Staffordshire, England manufacturer between 1870-1880s. The victorian pattern is actually called Blue Sprig or Chelsea Sprig and this is a rarely seen version of the pattern with floral arrangements in cornucopia baskets as well as sprigs.
