The cheese or stilton dome lid is 7 inches high by 6.75 inches in diameter, the base or plate is 9 in diameter. The stilton cheese dome was hand thrown with a sprigged or applied white design called Ferns and a ribbon and leaf border. Each knife rest measures 3 inches long by 1.5 inches high by 1.75 inches wide. The Knife holder or knife rest has a barley twist bar and andiron ends shaped like a fancy letter A. They are in very good shape but have been used quite a bit and show plating loss, especially to the bar and inside feet of one of the ends. The plate has a bit of gold loss and a few utensil marks but no chips or cracks and is overall in very good ++ condition and very pretty!
